We started this grassroots Protect The Joshua Trees Rally back in the summer of 2020, our mission has been to bring awareness to the status and threats of the Western Joshua Tree, Yucca brevifolia. We have tabled in front of the Joshua Tree Health Food Store to now have a booth at the Joshua Tree Farmers Market. We have connected with both locals of the Morongo Basin to those visiting this tourist destination spot raising awareness of this timely issue.

Documentarian Casey Kiernan and I were guests on the Z107.7 Podcast/radio show called UP CLOSE. Where we discussed the threats to the species, from climate change, wildfire, development and the upcoming documentary called I THOUGHT THEY WERE PROTECTED.  LISTEN HERE

More on the threats to the species, and a link to the peer-reviewed paper and study by Dr. Lynn Sweet. https://news.ucr.edu/articles/2019/07/16/joshua-trees-facing-extinction
