About the event

PLANT the PLANET Celebration is an opportunity for community learn, exchange, purchase seeds, plants, trees, soil and pots. There will be presentations from desert locals ranging from activist, bioregional herbalist, ecologist, plant enthusiast, native plant specialist, gardeners that specialize in cultivating flora in arid zones. There will be live entertainment starting at 6:00 PM from music, belly dancing to a drum circle.

I will be presenting “Planting Native Plants: The Importance of Supporting Biodiversity. This will be a light presentation on the many reasons to introduce native plants on your property, creating a localized ecosystem that supports the native wildlife. In addition, I am offering free Prickly Pear Cactus cuttings and sharing Agua de Nopal y Tuna (Prickly Pear cactus and fruit water). If you would like to take some Prickly Pear cuttings home please provide a medium sized to large box.
