SELF CARE BEAUTY WITH DESERT ALLIES is a hands-on workshop incorporating Native Plants to the Mojave Desert crafting skincare working with plant allies.

Plant Based Mineral Sunscreen.

We will be making a sunscreen free of chemicals working with local flora like Creosote Bush. Not only is this a sunscreen but it also makes for a lovely moisturizer (if you opt to leave out the zinc oxide)

Awakening Facial Toner (demo)

With summer around the bend, it’s nice to have a refreshing toner to freshen and awaken the skin. If you haven’t already been using a toner, it’s a Self Love ritual that’s nice to incorporate daily into our skincare regime.

Using a facial toner after each washing you face helps reduce oil, removing any left over makeup after washing. Helping reducing redness and inflammation. It’s astringent as well so it will tone and tighten the skin, an ally for them annoying breakouts. The plants that will be used in this demo will be native plants to the Mojave Desert and allies in helping reducing skin irritation from bug bites, stings, bringing relief from minor burns, calming any heat on the skin especially from a sunburn.

The facial toners can be used on the kiddos and it’s not gender specific either. Men can benefit from a little toner too!

Bottles of the Awakening Facial Toner will be available for purchase.

Materials needed:

•Floor seating

•Pen/paper

•Essential Oils of your choice (I recommend lavender, pine needles, peppermint or frankincense)

•2 ounces coconut oil

•4oz jar (the small size mason jars sold at Michaels, in bulk at Walmart or any shop selling canning jars)

If you cannot find any, I will have some available for $2.

I will be wildcrafting most of the flora for these workshops and providing the infused herbal oils. I will discuss briefly how to herbal infused oils which can be used to make salves, body butters, creams, lotions, lip balms and balms.
