Food and plants can help strengthen not only the immune system but the respiratory system. Strengthening mast cells and reducing allergy symptoms can also be treated with some local plant allies.
In this workshop participants will be making their own Respiratory & Allergy Herbal Vinegar remedies known as Acetums and adding honey or agave it becomes a sweetened herbal vinegar known as an Oxymel. Attendees will learn what plants like what solvents, why working with solvents will extract more specific plant constituents than others. Example ethanol alcohol vs acetic acid. Herbal vinegars can be taken as tonic during allergy season, cold and flu. We will be incorporating some local native plants of the Mojave Desert for this workshop.
Bring a cup or mug for the Plant Tea Meditation which will explore the physical energetics and taste.
